The second-placed best candidate for Director General at Public Benefits Organizations Regulatory Authority (PBORA) Dr Laxmana Peter Kiptoo has been picked and was made to hastily report at the PBORA offices on Friday, February 7, 2025.
Mr Kiptoo, who scored 75% behind Linus Muli from Makueni, comes from Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen’s Elgeyo Marakwet County. The third candidate was Ibrahim Mohamud who scored 72% hails from Garissa.
The PBORA is the successor of the Non-Government Organizations (NGO’s) Board
The recruitment process of the PBORA CEO has taken long with interviews having been held on December 5, 2024.
The Mwambu Mabonga board then wrote to then Internal Security CS Prof Kithure Kindiki. He transitioned to being Deputy President before he could make the appointment.
Then came in Murkomen who possibly had little knowledge of the pending appointment. “Weekly Citizen’ ran a story on the same – which was possibly ignored by Office of the President.
But when COFEK made inquiries on the appointment, on Thursday 6, the shock development was that Dr Kiptoo was made to hurriedly report early on Friday, February 7
It remains unclear why the best candidate was overlooked and by-passed by Mr Murkomen
